how it works

Your recovery, drawn as a road.

Every urge and every lapse you log is drawn into your road: its bends, its surface, the stones along it. Scroll to walk one.

The road, step by step

  1. 01 · your road

    A road, not a number.

Every time you followed a cue to the screen, a pathway got a little deeper. That's the old road, the gray one on the left. The day you stop, a new road starts beside it, and every clean day carries it further out.

  2. 02 · urges

Every urge you outlast is road.

Urges rise, crest and pass. Each one you ride out leaves a stone on your road where it hit, bigger the harder it hit. Quiet stretches pave smooth.

  3. 03 · a lapse

A lapse bends the road. It doesn't erase it.

Log it calmly: how far it went, the hour, the place, the mood. Your road swings back toward the old one, a little for a peek and more for a long session, and the old road glows while it pulls.

  4. 04 · hold on

Two close together, and the route says so.

That's when the old road pulls hardest. The ground warms, the road trembles and a fork back into the old groove shows up ahead. The next 72 hours decide which way it goes.

  5. 05 · the way back

Back where you were in days, not months.

Ground you've already walked comes back twice as fast. A ghost of you waits where you were, with the days it takes to get back: usually two to eight after a single lapse.

  6. 06 · the new default

There's no finish line to wait for.

Milestones mark what usually changes along the way. Your route ends at the new default, the road that's simply normal now. Most people stop checking the map long before they get there.

why it's different

Progress you can see, and can't lose overnight.

Most quit-porn apps count days, so one bad night shows up as zero. rerute shows what you've actually built, and treats a slip as something to learn from.

  • Tracks what a counter can't

A day counter knows one number. rerute's recovery algorithm weighs every clean day, every urge you outlast and every lapse by how far it went, and draws the result as your road.

  • A slip costs days, not everything

It knows ground you've already walked comes back faster, so after a single lapse most people are back where they were in two to eight days. Nothing resets to zero.

  • Learns what sets you off

It finds the hours, places and moods behind your urges, tells you when lapses start to cluster, and once a month points to the one rule worth changing.

  • 01The wave timer

When an urge hits, open the timer, tap what set it off and watch it pass with your own plan on the screen. At 0:00 the win logs itself.

What usually changes, and when.

Markers along your road show what many people notice by then. They count clean days, so a lapse moves the ones ahead out by a few days.

The pull is loudest in the first days. From here it starts to thin.
