Terms of use

1. What rerute is — and is not
rerute is a private self-tracking tool. You record urges and lapses; it shows you your own patterns.
It is not medical care, therapy, counselling, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a crisis service. Nothing in the app is professional advice, and no part of it is a substitute for a doctor or a therapist. If you are in crisis or at risk of harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line — rerute cannot help with that and does not monitor what you write.
2. Access
rerute's paid version is the iPhone app. It offers annual access or lifetime access, at base prices of USD 29.99 per year and USD 49.99 once, through Apple's localized storefront pricing; Apple shows the price before you confirm. Access belongs to the Apple Account that made the purchase. An optional ReRute account is separate from the purchase. Local export and account deletion controls remain available without paid access. Once rerute 1.1 is on the App Store, rerute.com no longer runs the app; it keeps help, a way to download or back up a journal kept in a browser, and account deletion.
Annual access is an auto-renewing subscription charged once each year until cancelled. Apple manages billing: manage or cancel it in your Apple Account's subscription settings (the app links there). Cancellation stops future renewal; access continues through the paid period. No free trial is offered.
Lifetime access is a one-time purchase; it is not a recurring subscription and does not automatically cancel an annual subscription. Restore a purchase using the Apple Account that made it. Apple purchases are governed by the standard Apple Terms of Use (EULA) and applicable Apple purchase terms. Contact Apple about refunds. Your statutory consumer rights, including rights about withdrawal and refunds, are unaffected.
3. Accounts
An account is optional and exists to back up and sync your data. It uses your email address and a six-digit code — there is no password. You are responsible for access to your email; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
One person per account. Don't share it.
Deleting your ReRute account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Subscription management remains available separately, and you can delete your ReRute account without first cancelling a subscription.
4. Your data
Your entries are yours. Export everything as CSV or JSON at any time. Use Delete account inside rerute (or under Help + your data on rerute.com) to erase your account, including anything synced to our server and every signed-in session, and then rerute's data on the device or browser you delete it from. Copies on other devices stay under your control. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, and don't resell it. We may suspend an account that does.
6. Availability
After access has been confirmed, rerute keeps your journal on this device and can open offline. If access has not been confirmed on this device, or its paid period has ended, the access screen requires a connection and a current purchase. Local export and account deletion remain available. We don't promise a specific uptime, and we may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down we will give notice and make sure you can export everything first.
7. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
8. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change we will say so in the app or by email before it applies to you. Continuing to use rerute after that means you accept the update.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Malta. If you are a
consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in your own country of
residence.
